Welcome to Ziggy’s Pooch Parlour, a home-based dog grooming service located in Portsmouth. By booking an appointment, you agree to the Terms & Conditions below. These policies exist to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of both your dog and the groomer.

Bookings & Cancellations

1.1 Booking

  • All appointments must be booked in advance.

  • New clients may be asked to provide basic information about their dog, including behavioural traits and medical conditions.

1.2 Arrival & Collection

  • Please arrive on time for drop-off and collection.

  • Dogs must be collected promptly once the groom is completed. Late collections may incur an additional fee.

1.3 Cancellations / No-Shows

  • Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.

  • Cancellations under 24 hours or no-shows may be charged up to the full grooming fee.

Health & Welfare

2.1 Health Conditions

  • Please inform us of any medical issues, allergies, injuries, infections, or behavioural concerns before the appointment.

  • Dogs with contagious conditions (including fleas, kennel cough, ear infections, ringworm) may be refused service and will need to be rebooked once cleared.

2.2 Fleas

  • If fleas are discovered during the groom, a flea treatment and deep-clean surcharge will apply, and the groom may be stopped if necessary to protect other dogs.

2.3 Vaccinations

  • It is recommended that dogs are up-to-date with vaccinations. Owners are responsible for ensuring their pet’s health status.

Behaviour & Safety

3.1 Aggressive or Difficult Dogs

  • Safety is a priority. If a dog becomes overly stressed, aggressive, or unsafe to handle, the groomer may stop the groom.

  • A handling fee may apply depending on the circumstances.

3.2 Muzzles & Restraints

  • For safety, safe and humane restraints or muzzles may be used when necessary.

Liability

4.1 Owner Responsibility

  • Owners are responsible for providing accurate information about their dog’s health and temperament.

4.2 Injury or Illness

  • While every care is taken, grooming involves sharp tools, water, dryers, and physical handling.

  • Ziggy’s Pooch Parlour will not be held responsible for minor nicks, skin irritation, clipper rash, stress-related issues, or pre-existing conditions that may be aggravated during grooming.

4.3 Veterinary Care

  • In an emergency, we may seek veterinary treatment for your dog if you cannot be contacted.

  • Owners are responsible for any veterinary costs incurred.

Photography & Social Media

5.1 With your consent, your dog’s photo may be taken before/after grooming and used on our website or social media pages.

5.2 If you prefer not to have photos used, please let us know at drop-off.

Payment

  • Payment is due on collection of your dog.

  • Prices may vary depending on coat condition, size, behaviour, and time required.

Data Protection

​Any personal information provided (such as name, address, and contact details) is kept confidential and used only for appointment management and communication.

Right to Refuse Service

​Ziggy’s Pooch Parlour reserves the right to refuse or stop a groom if a dog’s health, behaviour, or condition poses a risk.
